How to avoid the SourceForge adware installer

In what seems to be an alarming trend for open source projects, Sourceforge recently started using a nasty ad-supported installer for binary downloads. Here’s how to get around it:

  1. On the project’s SourceForge page, click Files.
  2. Then click the Direct Download Link: Off toggle in the center right so that it changes to Direct Download Link: On as shown in the screenshot below.

  3. Click through the folders to your desired file, which should download without the adware installer.
